A Certified Professional dog trainer Sumac is the founder of Wag It Games, a certified agility instructor an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Love On A Leash therapy dog evaluator. Sumac owned and operated Wag it Training Center in Maine for 15 years, was the first fully approved APDT Rally judge in New England and named Maine Dog Trainer Of The Year.
Sumac has been a repeat presenter at the Association of Professional Dog Trainers conferences, offered workshops to Maine Search and Rescue and and presented at Suzanne Clothiers Trainers Camp. She has appeared on Disney’s “That’s My Dog” and “Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman” on PBS.
Sumac offers courses for instructors offering tools and techniques to help them become more effective teachers and trainers. Sumac's Wag It Camp remains a popular event running annually for 14 years.
Sumac has been a contributor to The Association of Professional Dog Trainer's Chronicle of the Dog and DownEast Dog News.
